No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code for training of peace officers relating to the trafficking of persons. The bill would add Occupations Code, Section 1701.2535, Training Programs: Trafficking of Person, which requires the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) to establish a peace officer training program in human trafficking. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007 and TCLEOSE shall begin offering the program no later than January 1, 2008.

 

TCLEOSE does not anticipate significant fiscal impact to their agency from the bill.
