No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The Department of Aging and Disability Services anticipates any additional work resulting from the

passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

 

The bill would amend several sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Health and Safety Code to require a registered sex offender who resides or intends to reside in a nursing facility, assisted living facility, or ICF/MR facility to notify the facility of the individual's registration status in writing. In addition, the bill would require nursing facilities to maintain a log containing the full name and address of each registered sex offender from whom the facility receives a notice. The log must be made available for public inspection.
