IN RE: | HB3525 by Homer (Relating to the divorce of parents with children under 18 years of age.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the divorce of parents with children less than 18 years of age. The bill would remove insupportability as grounds for divorce in certain conditions, add provisions relating to joint abandonment of a marriage, and require parents to develop parenting plans as a condition of a court granting a divorce. To the extent the bill would amend court procedures relating to divorces, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
