Honorable Patrick M. Rose, Chair, House Committee on Human Services
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB3602 by Veasey (Relating to community homes for disabled persons.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require a community home that is not registered, licensed, operated, certified, or otherwise regulated by a state agency to register with the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). The Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission would be required to adopt rules to implement the registration requirement.
The DADS indicated that there would be a one time technology cost for programming in 2008 of $279,620 in General Revenue Funds. It is expected that these costs could be absorbed within the agency's existing budget.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
