LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 25, 2007

TO:
Honorable Kevin Bailey, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3671 by Thompson (Relating to the effect of the sale of real property to certain land banks on certain causes of action. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 379D, Local Government Code, which relates to an Urban Land Bank Program in a municipality with a population of 1.9 million or more. Only the City of Houston has a population of 1.9 million or more according to the 2000 U.S. census.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
