IN RE: | HB3807 by Vaught (Relating to the questioning of prospective jurors during voir dire examination.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the questioning of prospective jurors during voir dire examination. The bill would allow a prosecutor or defense attorney to question a prospective juror on views applicable to a case but would prevent questions that would appear to commit a prospective juror to a particular verdict. To the extent the bill would change procedures for voir dire examinations; no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
