HB3822 by Villarreal (Relating to the construction of road ways adjacent to schools.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to prohibit a county commissioners court and a municipality from beginning construction of a street or road in front of or adjacent to a public school, other than an institution of higher education, until the board of trustees of the school district provides consent to do so.

The bill would take effect immediately if it were to receive the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
