No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure regarding forfeiture of contraband to include as contraband property used in the commission of a Class A misdemeanor under Chapter 47 (Gambling) of the Penal Code.

Provisions of the bill would apply only to the forfeiture of contraband used in the commission of an offense committed on or after the effective date of the bill, which would be September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
