LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 17, 2007

TO:
Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3862 by McClendon (Relating to the duties of a water service provider in an area served by sewer service of certain political subdivisions.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add Subchapter Z to Chapter 402 of the Local Government Code, which would apply only to an area located in a county with a population of more than one million and in which more than 80 percent of the population resides in a single municipality, as well as criteria related to provision of sewer service and water service.

Local Government Impact

The criteria of the bill would apply only to Bexar County.

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
