No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to binding arbitration.  The bill would entitle a party to arbitration to a stenographic recording of an arbitration proceeding at the party’s expense.  The bill would amend procedures relating to judgments on awards.  To the extent the bill would amend court procedures relating to arbitration, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives two-thirds the vote of the members of each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.  


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
