HB3895 by Burnam (Relating to the interconnection of a customer's renewable energy system to a utility's electric transmission and distribution system.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code relating to the interconnection of a customer's renewable energy system to a utility's electric transmission and distribution system. The bill would require the Public Utility Commission to nofity the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of any suspected violations of the provisions of the bill. The bill would also require the OAG to investigate suspected violations, as well as authorize the OAG to inspect an electric utility's records and accounts and bring action to enforce the provisions of the bill.

It is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
