No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $77,468.


The resolution would entitle the Lieutenant Governor to an annual salary equal to the average of the annual salaries of the Comptroller, Commissioner of the General Land Office, and Attorney General.

Currently, all three office holders receive an annual salary of $125,000. Therefore, the Lieutenant Governor would receive an annual salary of $125,000 if the resolution was currently in effect.

The constitutional amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 6, 2007.  The amendment would take affect January 1, 2011.
