No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill requires the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to prescribe procedures by which school districts shall provide information to parents or guardians of female students relating to the connection between human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer. The bill requires the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), with existing resources, to collect and disseminate information that is unbiased, medically and scientifically accurate, and peer reviewed to parents, managing conservators, and guardians of female children relating to the connection between HPV and cervical cancer. It is assumed that any costs to TEA or DSHS associated with providing information can be reasonably absorbed within available resources.
