No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize the commisioners court of a county, after the date of written notice to the Texas Department of Transportation, to prohibit by order the erection of off-premise signs on a road or portion of a road located in a county that has a population of 800,000 or more or is adjacent to a county with a population of 800,000 or more and outside the corporate limits or the extraterritorial jurisdiction of a municipality.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
