No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 521.222, Transportation Code, by creating as an unspecified offense type if, while a holder of a driver instruction permit is driving, a licensed driver accompanying the permit holder sleeps, is intoxicated, or engages in an activity that prevents the licensed driver from observing and responding to the holder's actions.

It is assumed that any costs associated with enforcement would be absorbed within existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
