IN RE:
SB161 by Wentworth (Relating to intercollegiate athletics fees at institutions within the Texas State University System.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Under provisions of the bill, the Texas State University System may impose on each student enrolled at a component of the System, a intercollegiate athletics fee. The fee would be $8.75 per semester credit hour for each regular semester and $4.50 per semester credit hour for each summer session. The Texas State University System has indicated that each component institution that plans on charging the Intercollegiate Athletics Fee would reduce the Student Services Fee by an equal amount so the new fee would be revenue neutral.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
