No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require state agencies to report to the State Auditor on their progress determining compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. This information is subject to audit by the state auditor. The State Auditor's Office indicates that any costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing budget.
