The bill would amend the Government Code to provide the authority for the denial, suspension, or revocation of a state-issued license if the applicant for the license makes a false statement, misrepresentation, or refuses to provide information.
Based on information provided by the Department of Licensing and Regulation, the Department of Public Safety, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the Board of Nurse Examiners, the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, the Texas Medical Board, the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, the Board of Plumbing Examiners, the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the Board of Professional Engineers, the Board of Pharmacy, and the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners, it is assumed that costs related to the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered by utilizing existing resources.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
