No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to the requirement that the results of an alcohol and drug test taken by certain holders of a commercial driver license be reported to the Department of Public Safety.

Section 1 of the bill amends Transportation Code, Section 644.252(a) which requires the employer who conducts an alcohol or drug test of an employee who holds a commercial driver's license to report a positive test result or a diluted specimen to the Department of Public Safety. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

The Department of Public Safety anticipates no fiscal impact to the agency.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
