The bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to the requirement that the results of an alcohol and drug test taken by certain holders of a commercial driver license be reported to the Department of Public Safety.
Section 1 of the bill amends Transportation Code, Section 644.252(a) which requires the employer who conducts an alcohol or drug test of an employee who holds a commercial driver's license to report a positive test result or a diluted specimen to the Department of Public Safety. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.
