No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 522.072, Transportation Code, to specify that a violation for an employer who knowingly permits a person to drive a commercial motor vehicle under certain circumstances would have committed a Class B misdemeanor offense. It is anticipated that costs related to enforcement activities would be absorbed using existing resources.
