No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 25 relating to the assignment of a judge to hear a motion for the recusal or disqualification of a statutory probate court judge.  The bill would provide that a judge of a statutory probate court in the same county as the statutory probate court served by the judge who is the subject of the recusal or disqualification motion would not be eligible to serve as the judge to hear the recusal or disqualification motion.  To the extent the bill would modify procedures relating to judges assigned to hear motions; no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
