No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to provide that a municipal peace officer who is certified as a marine safety officer may enforce provisions under the Water Safety Act on an area of a lake that is outside the enforcement jurisdiction of the peace officer if certain criteria are met.

The bill would take effect immediately if it were to receive the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise it would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
