IN RE: | SB415 by Lucio (Relating to a risk assessment program for Type 2 diabetes and the creation of the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Program Advisory Committee.) ,Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would require the University of Texas-Pan American Border Health Office (Office) to administer a risk assessment program for Type 2 Diabetes. It is assumed any costs to the Office to administer the program could be absorbed with existing resources. The bill would authorize the Office to accept gift, grants, and donations for the risk assessment program. It is assumed this would not have a significant revenue impact.
The bill would establish a Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Program Advisory Committee and would authorize reimbursement for members for travel expenses. Reimbursement for any expenses would not be permissible without specific authorization in the General Appropriations Act.
