No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code, Chapter 9 relating to attorney’s fees in certain postjudgment proceedings including post divorce or annulment proceedings.  The bill would allow an attorney owed attorneys fees to enforce the order for fees by any means available for the enforcement of a judgment for debt.  To the extent the bill would change procedures relating to attorney fees, the fiscal implication to the State is not anticipated to be significant.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
