No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 56 relating to the use of the judicial and court personnel training fund.  The bill would allow the Court of Criminal Appeals to use three percent of the annual appropriation plus any additional amounts specifically approved by the Legislature for administration of judicial and court personnel training programs.  The bill would also provide that law enforcement officers, law students, and other participants at the court’s discretion would be eligible to attend innocence training programs funded from this source. 

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
