LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 28, 2007

TO:
Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB542 by West, Royce (Relating to county authority regarding subdivision platting and land development.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code by removing the population and location brackets, thus providing the same authority regarding subdivision platting and land development under Chapter 232 to all county commissioners courts. For counties that under current statute are required to publish certain notices, there would be a slight savings.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
