No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating as a Class C misdemeanor the offense of trespassing on residential land, defined as real property improved by a dwelling and zoned for or otherwise authorized for single-family or multifamily use. The offense would be a Class A misdemeanor if the offense is committed in a building or habitation or if the person committing the offense is carrying a deadly weapon during the commission of the offense.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
