No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that staff development training relating to the instruction of students with disabilities be research-based.

The bill would require that school districts consult with experts in research-based practices for students with disabilities in the process of developing training related to instruction of students with disabilities.

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency to coordinate with the Health and Human Services Commission to maintain an Internet web site that provides resources for teachers of students with special health needs.


Local Government Impact

The bill would establish additional requirements for teacher training and assistance for teachers of students with disabilities.  Districts would be required to consult with experts in developing training regarding the instruction of students with disabilities.
