SB643 by Carona (Relating to court orders for discovery in a criminal case.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to court orders for discovery in a criminal case upon a filing of an indictment or information.  The bill would direct the state prosecutor to supplement or amend information as necessary within a reasonably ordered discovery time period (approximately 30 days, within the discretion of the court).  To the extent the bill would amend necessary and reasonable time periods relating to discovery in criminal cases, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
