The costs associated with implementation of the bill would depend on the number of programs entered into by University of Texas at El Paso and Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Under the provisions of the bill, the Texas Tech University Health Science Center and the University of Texas El Paso may develop joint degree programs and joint research programs as the boards of regents of the participating institutions consider appropriate to efficiently use the resources of both institutions. The state costs of the the joint programs would depend upon the nature and scope of the partnerships agreed to by the two institutions.
