No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to an annual report by the Office of Court Administration (OCA) of the Texas Judicial System about jury charges and sentences in capital cases.  The bill would require OCA to report annually information regarding capital cases as described, and to publish the report no later than September 1, 2008.  According to OCA, the bill requirements could be absorbed within existing agency resources; therefore, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

 

The bill would be effective September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
