TO: | Honorable John Carona, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security |

IN RE: | SB735 by Hegar (Relating to the conversion of a two-way frontage road to a one-way frontage road by the Texas Department of Transportation.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to specify that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) may convert a frontage road from two-way traffic to one-way traffic unless there is no corresponding frontage road on the opposite side of the associated highway or a motion or order objecting to the converstion is adopted and filed by the affected county or governing body of a city.
Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.
The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house or otherwise on September 1, 2007.
