LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2007

TO:
Honorable Steve Ogden, Chair, Senate Committee on Finance

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB737 by Williams (Relating to the amount of hazardous duty pay for certain state employees.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would remove the current $300 per month cap on hazardous duty pay for service after 30 years. Agencies with employees eligible for hazardous duty pay would have to pay additional funds to employees with over 30 years of service, but there are not many employees with that much service. The additional payments would not be significant at the agency level or the statewide level.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
