FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB772 by Van de Putte (Relating to conditions of employment for certain peace officers.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would add Section 142.069 to Subchapter B of Chapter 142, Local Government Code, to authorize in certain municipalities procedures to establish a meet and confer agreement for municipal peace officers employed in a department other than the municipal police department.
Local Government Impact
The fiscal impact to an applicable municipality would depend on whether an election by the voters is ordered by the municipality and on what is established through a meet and confer agreement if meet and confer is implemented.
