No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 545.153, Transportation Code (Vehicle Entering Stop or Yield Intersection), by increasing the amount of the fine for a violation of the statute if as a result of the violation an accident causing injury to or death of a pedestrian occurred.

The bill would apply only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of the bill, which would be September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
