FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
Revision 1

May 15, 2007

TO:
Honorable Patrick M. Rose, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB805 by Uresti (Relating to a foster children's bill of rights.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 263, Family Code, to establish a list of rights to which each child in substitute care is entitled.  It would also require the Department of Family and Protective Services to inform children of their rights.  The agency indicates that it could absorb the costs associated with the bill within its current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
