No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would entitle an employee of a school district who participates in TRS-ActiveCare or an alternative employer-sponsored health insurance plan offered by the school district who resigns after the end of the instructional year to continued coverage and receipt of the same contributions available on behalf of the employee under Chapter 1581of the Insurance Code until the end of the plan year. No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
School districts would be required to continue coverage and any contributions for coverage to which an employee is entitled under Chapter 1581 of the Insurance Code until the end of the plan year for an employee who resigns after the end of an instructional year.
