No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the minimum continuing legal education requirements for an attorney who is a member of the Texas Legislature.  The bill would prevent a rule of the supreme court or state bar from crediting a legislator licensed as an attorney with meeting minimum continuing legal education requirements for a compliance year if the credit is based solely on the attorney’s services as a legislator during a compliance year.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
