SB824 by Uresti (Relating to the survival of actions brought under the Deceptive Trade Practices--Consumer Protection Act.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish that a cause of action under the Business and Commerce Code does not end due to the death of the consumer or the death of the person liable for a false misleading or deceptive act. It is assumed that any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
