SB864 by Harris (Relating to offenses involving boating safety.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to propose amendments to current statutory provisions involving boating safety.  Substantial changes would include, but are not limited to: prohibition of motorboat within 100 feet of shore, vessel, person or platform, and prohibition of a motorboat from operating within 100 feet, or in a circular course around individuals engaged in water activities. To the extent the bill would require the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to amend rules regarding boating safety, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. 

The bill would take effect July 1, 2007 with a two-thirds vote of all members; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
