May 15, 2007

TO:
Honorable Helen Giddings, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry

FROM:

IN RE:
SB929 by Jackson, Mike (Relating to workers' compensation subclaims. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to workers' compensation subclaims.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Insurance, it is assumed the bill would result in an additional 480 medical dispute resolutions.  It is also assumed that the workload associated with these additional resolutions could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
