SB940 by Wentworth (Relating to multi-jurisdictional library districts.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to procedures for establishing, operating, and funding a multi-jurisdictional library district, as well as for dissolutionment of the district. A sales tax and an ad valorem tax for the district could be approved at the same election. A county or municipality that creates or joins a multi-jurisdictional library district would be authorized to donate library assets to the district without compensation from the district.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
