The bill would amend Section 31.0041(b), Human Resources Code, to provide supplemental financial assistance, up to a maximum of $1,500 (increased from $1,000), to a grandparent who meets the eligibility criteria. It allows state agencies to delay implementation of any provisions listed in this act if additional authorization or waivers need to be requested from a federal agency.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
