No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 541.201(15), Transportation Code to remove a reference to a specific number of passengers from the definition of a school activity bus. The bill also would amend Section 545.001, Transportation Code to specifically define a school bus to include a school activity bus. The bill would add new Section 547.7012 to prohibit a school activity bus from being painted National School Bus Glossy Yellow.

Local Government Impact

To the extent that school districts may currently have school activity buses that are painted National School Bus Glossy Yellow, costs to repaint such vehicles would be incurred.
