No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add new Section 541.201(11-A), Transportation Code to provide a definition of a multifunction school activity bus. The bill also would amend Section 545.001, Transportation Code to specifically define a school bus to include a multifunction school activity bus. The bill would add new Section 547.7012 to prohibit a multifunction school activity bus from being painted National School Bus Glossy Yellow.

Local Government Impact

To the extent that school districts may currently have vehicles meeting the new definition of a multifunction school activity bus that are painted National School Bus Glossy Yellow, costs to repaint such vehicles would be incurred.
