LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 18, 2007

TO:
Honorable Kevin Bailey, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1185 by Nelson (Relating to certain low-interest home loan programs offered by the state.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to certain low-interest home loan programs offered by the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC). The bill would modify the distribution of the portion of the state ceiling reserved exclusively for the programs of TSAHC, and would therefore modify the portion of the state ceiling reserved for local housing finance agencies.  Based on information provided by the Department of Housing and Community Affairs, this analysis assumes that any impact to units of local government resulting from this bill would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
