No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide that members who served in the legislature prior to September 1, 2007 remain eligible for service credit in the elected class and for participation in the Employees Retirement System. The bill would provide that members who serve in the legislature on or after September 1, 2007 are not entitled to service credit in the elected class and would not be eligible to participate in the Employees Retirement System.

The Employees Retirement System actuary certifies that this bill would not require an increase in the state contribution to the retirement plan.

The bill take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
