SB1274 by Van de Putte (Relating to the compounding of a drug or device by a pharmacist.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Occupations Code to provide the Board of Pharmacy with the authority to adopt rules governing the procedures for a pharmacist, as part of compounding, to add flavoring to a commercial product at the request of a patient or a patient's agent.

 

Based on information provided by the Board of Pharmacy and the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that costs related to the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered by utilizing existing resources.

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
