SB1285 by Van de Putte (Relating to continuing education and training for peace officers relating to the trafficking of persons.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to continuing education and training for peace officers relating to the trafficking of persons. The bill would amend Occupations Code, Section 1701 which establishes a requirement for peace officer training in human trafficking.  The bill would also amend Education Code, Chapter 96, requiring the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas to develop the human trafficking course’s design, establishment, and availability. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

 

The Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education does not anticipate significant fiscal impact to their agency.


Local Government Impact
